Gunter's Ecomarine Dive Shop has been in operation for almost 30 years on the wonderful Caribbean island Utila. Our history in providing top quality education and diving is unequaled. Experienced Instructors, Divemasters and Captains will guide you to reach your peak abilities in dive education and will insure you see the marine treasures that await.

It is all about the diving at Gunter's as we are very serious when it comes to dive safety and the overall diving experience we provide for our guests.

We also know that diving should be fun and fun in the Caribbean sometimes means PARTY! For this reason we also feature "The Lazy Boat". After years of experience we have seen that Utila's night life is too much to resist for some of our guests. So, in the interest of safety and in consideration that some people are on Utila for a vacation the Lazy Boat leaves at about 10:30am. 

At Gunter's Ecomarine we limit our class size to no more than four students to provide the optimum learning environment. Smaller classes mean more personal attention to the individual and plenty of time above and below the water to attain the proper skill levels in RELAXED atmosphere..

Fun divers benefit from our comfortable boats, experienced divemasters and top notch Captains. We never overload our boats and take you to all the sites that make Utila famous. On north side dives we are always looking for Whale Shark "The Domino" and often give our divers the ultimate experience of snorkeling with these great and gentle beasts.

 If you are a fundiver, open water candidate or considering becoming a dive professional, Gunter's Ecomarine will provide you with all the skills and experience you need to enjoy SCUBA diving to the fullest.

We have a great selection of new Aqua Lung, Mares and Cressi Dive BCD's, short and long wetsuits in all sizes and all new masks and snorkels. 

our dive boats

The "NO Name" is 25' Panga and is perfect for quick trips to the North Side, South side dives and Snorkel tours. We also offer free water taxi pickup at the ferry dock for our divers with this boat..

The "Salva Vida is our 38' dive boat and features very comfortable travel, entry and exit to Utila's undersea world. We use the "Salva" for Northside trips, Southside trips and sunset harbour trips.
